6 Beauty Looks That Stood Out at Spring 2025 Couture Week

This year’s Spring Couture Week was a feast for the eyes, with beauty trends ranging from timeless classics to avant-garde statements. Makeup artists and hairstylists collaborated seamlessly with designers to elevate each collection, transforming the runway into a showcase of artistry and innovation. Beauty became more than just an accessory—it was a key narrative element, enhancing the themes and inspirations behind each show.

More than just fleeting trends, these beauty moments set the tone for the season ahead. The artistry showcased this year not only inspired awe but also served as a reminder of fashion’s ability to challenge norms and reimagine classic ideas. As the curtain falls on Couture Week, these standout looks remain etched in our memories, ready to influence beauty trends worldwide.

Here are 6 memorable beauty moments from the Spring 2025 couture week.

1. Celestial Glow at Schiaparelli

Pat McGrath brought a celestial glow to Schiaparelli with a look inspired by the myth of Icarus. Models sported pearlescent blush, pastel yellow eyeshadow, and bleached eyebrows, creating an ethereal and radiant effect. The softly sculpted complexions at Schiaparelli, Giambattista Valli, and Zuhair Murad emphasised a more natural, defined beauty, steering away from heavily applied makeup.

2. Classic Red Lips at Chanel

Chanel reignited the allure of the red lip, offering a variety of shades to complement different skin tones. From cherry to vermillion to rouge noir, every iteration of red graced the runway. Backstage, makeup artists prepped lips with Hydra Beauty Micro Sérum Lèvres before applying shades such as Rouge Matte in 21 Rouge and Rouge Allure Velvet in 458 Sensuelle. This bold, timeless choice stood out against the collection’s muted and pastel colour palette. Proving yet again that you cannot go wrong with a red lip.

3. Feather Mohawks and Graphic Brows at Dior

Dior embraced rebellious sophistication with feathered mohawks styled by Guido Palau and graphic brows created by Peter Philips. The brows, brushed upwards and shaped to create visible gaps, added an edgy, modern twist. Paired with radiant complexions, a touch of pink blush, and a subtle Dior Lip Oil, the overall look balanced boldness with femininity. According to Philips, the aesthetic was “Alice in Wonderland revisited as a rebel in crinoline,” effortlessly blending punk sensibilities with haute couture.

4. Exaggerated Smoky Eyes at Armani Privé

Marking its 20th anniversary, Armani Privé showcased a sultry reinvention of the smoky eye. Models wore bright white eyeshadow contrasting with charcoal grey, blended outwards to the temples. Silver shimmer was added to the inner lids for a metallic finish. Concealed brows heightened the drama, offering a futuristic edge to this classic beauty look.

5. Hot Pink Eyeshadow and Trippy Pixies at Viktor & Rolf

Viktor & Rolf took us back to the ’80s with vibrant hot pink eyeshadow paired with bold purple mascara. Models wore blonde and pink, wispy pixie wigs with an unexpected swooping updo at the back. The hair looked like two hairstyles in one, enhancing the trippy, ‘not-quite-right’ look of the collection that plays around with the idea of the distorted imagery that is oftent produced by AI. Sam Visse’s funky makeup and Olivier Schawalder’s quirky hairstyling perfectly captured the era’s vibrance.

6. Sixties Beehive Updo at Tamara Ralph

Tamara Ralph channelled the swinging ’60s with bold eyeliner and towering beehives that exuded retro sophistication. Hair stylist Larry King crafted voluminous hair with a soft, natural finish and a slightly fluffy texture. The style featured a side part with a sweeping fringe, evoking the iconic girl groups of the era, such as The Supremes and The Ronettes. The beehives were further elevated by two carefully placed tendrils framing the models’ faces. This nostalgic beauty moment perfectly rounded out a week filled with vintage-inspired influences.

From soft, luminous eye looks at Schiaparelli to the hard, smoky eyes at Armani Privé, Spring 2025 Couture Week celebrated the artistry of makeup, hairstyling and overall beauty. Which of these trends will you embrace this season?
