Copenhagen Fashion Week's second day was elevated to new heights as A. Roege Hove unveiled her Fall/Winter 2025 collection. In an intimate yet industrial setting that is the very space where the brand’s designs come to life, Amalie Røge Hove showcased a masterclass in knitwear innovation, blurring the lines between art, fashion, and functionality.
Titled ‘Shapes’, the collection stayed true to its name, with each piece exploring a dialogue between structure and fluidity. The setting was a brutalist industrial building with knitting machines humming softly in the background that added a rawness to the whole show.
Central to the collection was the innovative use of geometric ribbing. Though the colour palette leaned to the neutral side with mainly black, white and grey on display, it was accented with dramatic pops of burgundy that added depth and warmth to the collection. This is, however, an intentional departure from the vibrant hues of the SS25 collection. This meticulous attention to detail, paired with symmetry, stripes, and orderly cut-outs, reinforced the brand’s technical mastery.
Known for their preference for nylon, A. Roege Hove embraced wool as the hero of FW25. “It’s a little atypical of us,” Røge Hove admitted, but the material was reinvented into barely-there, see-through knits and playful, flounced hemlines. The result? Garments that seemed to float around the body while enhancing the female form with soft, seductive sheerness.
The collection’s layering was both functional and artistic, pairing gossamer-thin knits with heavier, textured pieces. Off-the-shoulder silhouettes and slitted jumpers added a dramatic edge, while the interplay of sheer and opaque fabrics created an otherworldly effect. Oversized, boxy bags wrapped in pleated fabric provided a bold, grounded contrast to the garments that allowed the collection to be as practical as it was artistic. Accessories took the looks of the collection to the next level, with balaclavas, fingerless gloves and skinny scarves transformed into striking, sculptural details. Tights woven in the same delicate fabric created cohesive head-to-toe looks that felt modern yet timeless.
A. Roege Hove's FW25 collection cemented the brand’s reputation as a knitwear pioneer. By embracing a subdued palette and focusing on shape and structure, the collection invited viewers to reconsider the possibilities of knitwear. In a world of maximalism, A. Roege Hove made a compelling case for the beauty of simplicity—when executed with visionary craftsmanship.
This was not just a fashion show but a tactile experience, one that reminded us why A. Roege Hove remains a standout at Copenhagen Fashion Week. As the final models exited the runway, the hum of knitting machines felt like a fitting finale that served as a reminder of the artistry and labour behind every stitch.
For FW25, A. Roege Hove didn’t just present clothing; it presented a vision—a celebration of form, texture, and the enduring charm and appeal of knitwear.
