I love exfoliating my body but I’ve always struggled to find the perfect combination of ingredients that work for me. Every exfoliator that I've tried before has disappointed me. The physical exfoliating granules weren’t rough enough, and even if it was, the scent would put me off or it would finish too quickly. On top of that, a lot of exfoliator packaging is difficult to open in the shower without getting water into. So I have been on the hunt for a good exfoliant that fits all of my needs.

The fact that this product has so many incredible ingredients is one thing, but the fact that it comes in a whopping 240g container is a huge selling point for me! Many brands sell body exfoliators in small containers that are finished within 3 weeks. In this case, the Fenty scrub can last you up to 3 months!

It seems like every new makeup and skincare product launch of Rihanna is better than the last, but we haven’t heard much about her body care. When you actually look into it, you’ll find over 20 different body products by Fenty, including body creams, shimmers, cleansing bars, hydrating milk, SPF, and what we are reviewing today - the AHA Cherry Dub Body exfoliator.

Why You Should Exfoliate Your Body

Fun fact: skin is the largest organ of the human body! The skin on our face and neck only makes up between 2% to 3.5% of our entire body surface area. Yet, we tend to focus only on taking care of the skin on our face. Our skin sheds dead skin cells around every 30 days, which can cause dry flakey skin that appears dull. It’s important to buff away these dead skin cells with an exfoliator in order to have soft, radiant skin. According to a Skin Health Expert, Kate Somerville, you should exfoliate your body 2-3 times per week.

About Fenty Cherry Dub Exfoliator

The Fenty Cherry Dub Triple Action AHA Body Scrub is a skin treat for your body and senses. This product claims to make your skin extremely soft and smooth. What sets Fenty’s Cherry Dub Scrub apart from competitors is its ingredients - it contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) and fruit enzymes from papaya, pomegranate and pineapple, which help to chemically exfoliate, retexture and renew skin.

This scrub is also a strong physical exfoliant made up of sugar, bitter cherry, pumice and lychee that buffs away dead skin. They used Barbados Cherry (Acerola) Extract as a delicious scent that is packed with Vitamin C to condition the skin. The last highlighted ingredient in this scrub is shea butter, which is known to nourish and moisturise skin. Many people shy away from exfoliators because they have sensitive skin, however Fenty claims that their Cherry Dub Exfoliator is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin!

About My Skin: Normal / Combination

I have normal/combination skin. I sometimes struggle with dry skin on my legs and forearms. Although Fenty says you can see results immediately after your first use, I wanted to use the product for a full 2 weeks before forming a solid opinion. I used the scrub every 2nd shower, which was around 3 times per week.

How to Apply: Circular Motions

I first rinsed my body in the shower with warm water. Then I squeezed a walnut sized product into my hand and applied it onto my body. I added more of the scrub as I went along. Then I massaged the exfoliator into my skin in circular motions. When I was done, I rinsed the product off and washed with soap as usual. To ensure that I get the softest skin and best results from the exfoliator, I always put body oil on afterwards along with a body lotion.

Exfoliating your body is especially great to use just before you shave and before you apply self-tan. Exfoliating before shaving will help prevent ingrown hairs, while exfoliating before applying self-tan will make your tan last longer.

The Results: Cherry Lollipop

When I started using the Fenty scrub, I noticed immediate results (just as Fenty said) — my skin felt soft, subtle and smooth after only one use. The granules are big and rough which are perfect for physical exfoliation and it’s very satisfying to use. The scent is one of my favourite things about this scrub, it’s a divine combination of cherry and sugar that smells like a cherry lollipop. After using it for 2 weeks, my skin still felt as smooth and soft as the first time, which indicates that it isn’t too harsh and you can use it often. After the 2 weeks my skin looked more radiant and all the dead skin cells were gone, however I couldn’t see a major physical difference.

To get the most out of the exfoliating results, use body oil and a moisturiser after using the Fenty scrub. The goal is to get glowy, radiant, soft skin.

What We Like
What We Don’t Like

Physical exfoliator (sugar, bitter cherry, pumice and lychee)

High price point

Chemical exfoliator (AHA’s and fruit enzymes)

Not ideal for everyday use

Smells delicious

The scent changes over time and becomes less sweet and more artificial smelling

Vegan and Recyclable packaging

Easy to use packaging

The Value: Pricey but Worth it

The Fenty Cherry Dub Scrub is not cheap but its worth it, I mean it contains 3 exfoliants; AHA’s, fruit enzymes and sugar. This gives you a physical and chemical exfoliation. The packaging also contains 240g of product, which is a lot compared to other exfoliating products.

Final Verdict: Delicious Skin

Who doesn’t want to smell delicious and have supple skin? If this is your goal then The Fenty Cherry Dub Scrub is the best addition to your shower routine. It smells like sweet candy, it exfoliates 3 ways and it’s long lasting. It has a pretty hefty price, but after using the product and learning about its ingredients I believe it's 100% worth it.

The Fenty Cherry Dub AHA Body Scrub is available online and in-store at Edgars as well as on the Fenty website.
